Consent for Complex Dentistry
The Office of the Public Advocate sometimes hears stories of people with a disability receiving complex dental care that has gone wrong.
To assist people who are asked to consent to such treatment, a new information sheet has been prepared with the assistance of a special needs dentist. This information is relevant to both young and older adults. A key recommendation is that patients and decision makers ask questions of professionals and to take time to make a decision.
